Who I am
I'm currently a Managed OpenShift Black Belt at Red Hat, and a career-long DevOps Engineer and tech lead living in Amsterdam who enjoys travelling around the world, getting lost in strange cities and cooking interesting food. I enjoy photography, cooking and technology. In the past, I’ve run a web hosting company in my spare time and wrote a travel blog describing my trips around the world.
When there isn’t a pandemic going on, I am a regular speaker at meetups and conferences, usually presenting on cloud native technologies, assisting companies with their digital transformations, and empowering colleagues to grow in their careers.
I am an experienced team lead for engineering teams, having worked in MedTech, FinTech and Mission Critical Engineering since 2012. I specialise in understanding business requirements and translating these to technical solutions, while coaching and building safe and high performing teams.
I’ve designed, implemented and migrated whole genome DNA sequencing pipelines from GridEngine clusters to CloudNative systems, automated and built Kubernetes clusters on private clouds, architected dynamic machine learning platforms on public cloud using GPUs, and much more. Always keen to tackle the next challenge!
